We are slowly teasing answers out of Mr. Edwards.

Who are your influences?

There are several important artists from different time periods who are important to me.

Phillip Guston because of his courage to change. He was successful with what he was doing, but he grew out of that style, and even though he paid a dear price was courageous enough to make the change. He realized there were more important things than to repeat what had already been said.

Hieronymus Bosch. Through his work I realize how important content is. His work deals with the agony in the lives of human beings and the content made me realize that's what I should deal with in my work

Edvard Munch showed me the importance of putting my emotions into my work.

Henri Mattise showed me how to be free with color.

Mark Rothko is a genius of light.
